The remit for the kitchen was a design that would remain inkeeping with the timber beams and flint cottage in which it was set.
The existing layout worked well so only minor alterations would be necessary, we needed to maintain space for a small dining table within the kitchen.
There was several ideas on the table and the client decided upon an inframe door in oak finished in a bespoke paint colour. The doors were a shaker style with stainless steel handles. The wall and tall units were finished with veneer panels and a plain light pelmet. A projecting flat cornice gives the kitchen a more contemporary take on a traditional design bringing a classic right up to date.
Bon accord granite with recessed sink drainer, upstands, window cill and hob splashback provide the worksurfaces. Whilst a Franke waste disposal, stainless steel undermount sink and Chrome tap provide some sparkle.
A magic corner provides a better solution for the dead space usually used to hide the fondue set whilst a pullout spice rack in the sink run makes good use of a small space.
All appliances were Neff as they are a good balance between quality and price. A double warming draw, double oven and a microwave stacked above each other whist an induction hob and buit in extractor are within easy reach. The dishwasher and fridge freezer were installed in the sink run.
The floor tiles were removed to install Heat Mat underfloor heating and once latexed a few times the floor was finished with an oak coloured a Amtico vinyl.
